Kappa Alpha Theta seeks women of outstanding character; ones who are determined to be a part of our extraordinary history. Excellence does not only ensue within the walls of our universities but goes far beyond it. Throughout the years, alumnae have continuously excelled in every professional field – including medicine, entertainment, and politics.

Melinda Gates

Philanthropist and American businesswoman; she is the co-founder of one of the world's largest private foundations; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She has been the recipient of several awards, including The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. For the last two years, Forbes Magazine has ranked Melinda Gates as the third most powerful woman in the world.

Tory Burch

Tory Burch is a renowned fashion designer, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Apart from winning countless awards for her designs, she was also noted as the 79th Most Powerful Woman in the World by Forbes Magazine.

Sheryl Crow

Sheryl Crow is a Grammy-award winning vocalist and songwriter. She also actively supports various causes including global warming and breast cancer research. Albums include Detours.

Dylan Lauren

Creator of NYC’s Dylan’s Candy Bar (largest candy store in the world) and daughter of world renowned fashion designer, Ralph Lauren.

Joan Ganz Cooney

American television producer; she is founder of the Children’s Television Network, and co-created Sesame Street. She has no less than 19 honours, including Woman of the Decade award in 1979, and 19 honorary degrees.

Marjorie Child Husted

Marjorie Husted became the first radio voice for General Mills’ Betty Crocker the personification of the corporation’s home economics department and she filled that role for twenty years (1927-1947). Beginning in 1926 Child created the department and ultimately designated director of General Mills' Home Service Program.

Nancy Kassebaum Baker

Known for her ability to build coalitions and for her practical approach to fiscal issues, Kassebaum was the first woman to chair a major United States Senate committee, the Committee on Labor and Human Resources. She served 1978-1997.

Elaine Frontain Bryant

Television producer and network executive for A & E. Her work includes Storage WarsSons of Libertyand Flipping Boston In 2016 she won an Emmy for her work as Executive Producer on Born This Way a show on the A & E Network which follows the lives of seven young adults born with Downs Syndrome.
